Foreign poets to come together at Iranian conference

TEHRAN,Oct.4(MNA) – The second conference of Iranian and world poets’ secretariat announced the names of some foreign guests of the event.

The secretary of the conference Musa Bidaj said that 43 poets from different countries will definitely attend the event.

The two cities of Tehran and Shiraz will be hosting the second conference of Iranian and the world’s poets from October 8 to 11.

Poets from 30 countries including Britain, Denmark, Norway, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Jordan and China are invited to the conference, he said.

Palestinian poet Moussa Hawamdeh, scholar and poet Victor AlKik from Lebanon, Dennis Mayer from the United States and Iraqi-based Danish poet Muniam al Faker will attend the event.

The Alzahra University, Tarbiat Modarres University, Tehran’s Allameh Tabatabaie University and The Islamic Azad University (Terhan’s south branch) are the academic centers that will host the event.

The Iranian Artists Forum, the Art Bureau of the Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization, and Melal Cultural Center are other hosts of the event.

The conference will also publish a second volume of “A Window to the World Poetry” which will include the biography in Persian and English of participants of the event.

The event will be held on the occasion of National Hafez Day, the day before the celebration on the evening of October 11.

Poets will celebrate the closing ceremony of the conference at the mausoleum of Hafez, the Hafezieh located in Shiraz, on National Hafez Day, the day before the celebration on the evening of October 11.
