Iranian artists show solidarity with Palestinian children
TEHRAN, Oct.4(MNA)-– An exhibition of paintings, cartoons and posters, expressing the solidarity of Iranian artists with Palestinian children, opened here on Sunday at the Niavaran Cultural Center.
Entitled “Tradition of Freedom”, works by veterans and youth including Kambiz Derambakhsh, Hamid Ajami, Bahram Azimi, Kazem Chalipa, Qobad Shiva, Morteza Asadi and Ali Vazirian are on show until October 6.
A painting workshop attended by masters Ahmad Vakili, Morteza Asadi, Rezvan Sadeqzadeh and several others was also arranged on the side section on the first day.
Iranian Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Hamid Shahabadi made the opening speech calling Israel a tumor which the people of Palestine have suffered from over the years.
“The idea of resistance in religious culture has a close relationship with reality and it means resistance against any oppression. Once the Palestinians’ homeland was occupied and destroyed, nobody objected. But today, a new idea is being formed in which Islamic awareness is crossing over the borders,” he said.
Today, the ideas of resistance and truth seeking have been spread not only in Palestine, but across the world and the world must know that Palestine is indivisible, he added.
He stressed on the ability of the artists in displaying the world of truth and said, “Our artists have seen the Palestinian children and the pain they have been through. This exhibit shows part of the tragedy.”
Shahabadi expressed his appreciation to the artists who have taken part in the event to show their solidarity and hoped it helps promote the message of Palestinian’s oppression to the world.
