Turkmenistan’s decision to construct artificial islands: Iranian FM spokesperson

TEHRAN, Oct.5 (MNA)--On Turkmenistan’s recent decision to construct artificial islands off the coasts of the Caspian Sea, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast said, “The legal regime of the Caspian Sea must be drafted with the consensus of the five (littoral) states, and environmental issues should be taken into consideration, and the littoral states should take into account measures which would damage the environment.”
