Iran urges U.S., Russia to eradicate their chemical weapons

TEHRAN, Oct. 5 (MNA) – Iran’s envoy to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on Tuesday called on the countries possessing chemical weapons, particularly the United States and Russia, to fulfill their commitments based on the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and meet the deadline of April 29, 2012 for the eradication of their chemical weapons.

Kazem Gharibabadi, also said that their cases should be referred to the United Nations Security Council and the General Assembly if they fail to meet the deadline.
