Heavy punishments will not defuse Bahrain crisis, Iran`s FM says
TEHRAN, Oct. 8 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that meting out heavy punishment to Bahrain protesters will not help resolve the crisis engulfing the tiny Persian Gulf sheikdom.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival from New York on Wednesday, Salehi advised the Al Khalifa regime to take measures necessary to fulfill public demands.
He also said that the meeting he held with the Bahrain foreign minister in New York on September 26 was requested by the Bahraini side.
