Iranian historian Azizollah Bayat dies at 91

TEHRAN,Oct.8(MNA)-- History scholar died of natural causes. He was 91.

Born in 1920 in Nahavand city, he got his diploma in Hamedan. In 1969, he got his doctorate in history from France’s Paul Sabatier University.

He was the history professor at the University of Shahid Beheshti since 1972.

He also taught at other academic centers like Alzahra University, different branches of the Islamic Azad University and Tarbiat Modarres University.

He wrote several books and articles on the history of Iran during his career.

“Kermanshah’s historical sites”, “Comparative History of Iran with the world from Maad to Pahlavi” and “Regional Geography of Kermanshah” is among his books.

His funeral procession started from opposite Shohaday-e Tajrish Hospital on Friday.
