Turkish official honors Iranian music band
TEHRAN,Oct.9(MNA) -- The Iranian traditional music band Avesta was honored by Konya’s Provincial Culture and Tourism director with a Rumi medal.
Abdüssettar Yarar awarded the medal to band leader Jalal Zolfonun during the seminar entitled Molana in the Mirror of Shams in Iran’s northwestern town Khoy on October 6, band publicist Arash Avesta told on Saturday.
The group gave several performances during the seminar on the Persian mystic and poet Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi (1207-1273), whose body is buried in Konya, a city in southern Turkey.
