Iran to hold art auction to raise founds for cancer patients

TEHRAN, Oct.10(MNA)-- A large number of works by Iranian artists will be on sale in Tehran to raise money for cancer sufferers.

The sale, which is considered as Iran’s first fine art auction, will be in the Parsian Hotel on October 21.

The auction is a collaborative project between the Shirin Gallery and the Behnam Daheshpur Charity Organization, auction manager Shirin Partovi said in a press release on Sunday.

Works by 127 prominent artists will first be put on display in an exhibition at the gallery for six days from October 14, added Partovi, who is also the director of the Shirin Gallery.

Parviz Kalantari, Farah Osuli, Monir Farmanfarmaian, Afshin Pirhashemi, Nasrollah Afjeii and Masud Arabshahi are some of the artists, whose works will go under the hammer during the auction.

Partovi called on art fans and beneficent people to help the cancer patients by giving a warm welcome to the charity event.
