Iranian canoe sprinter banned for doping
TEHRAN, Oct. 10 (MNA) -- Iranian canoe sprinter Shahu Naseri failed a doping test on Sunday.
Four days ahead of the 14th Asian Canoe Sprint Championships, which will take place in Tehran Naseri was handed a two-year ban by the Iran’s National Anti Doping Organization after using a prohibited substance.
“Shahu suffered a shoulder injury last year and he informed Iran Coach Lothar Schafer but the German didn’t care about him. He was forced to use medicine under instruction from his doctor and we are sorry to say he tested positive,” head of Iran’s Canoe Committee Mohsen Milad said.
