Foreign dubbers to dub “Mokhtarnameh” into Urdu in Iran

TEHRAN,Oct.12(MNA) -- A team of professional film dubbers from India and Pakistan are expected to travel to Iran to dub the Iranian TV series “Mokhtarnameh” into Urdu.

The Urdu version of the 40-episode “Mokhtarnameh” is due to be aired on Sahar, an international Iranian TV channel, the Public Relations Office of Sahar reported on Tuesday.

Directed by Davud Mirbaqeri, “Mokhtarnameh” is about an uprising organized by Mokhtar Saqafi after the events of Ashura, the 10th of Muharram, to take revenge against the killers of Imam Hussein (AS).

The negotiations with the team are continuing in order to reach a final agreement, director of Sahar’s Urdu channel said, adding, “As soon as everything is confirmed, the team will be traveling to Iran to begin the project.”

Davud Eskandari said that the Urdu translation of 30 episodes has been completed so far and the project is expected to commence next month.

“The text has deep concepts which will require special delicacy and need to be supervised here in the country where we would be able to have control over the entire dubbing process,” Eskandari explained.

“Another aspect is that the great number of characters and, consequently, voices makes the series a unique undertaking which will need precise management,” he added.

Mirbaqeri took about eight years to complete the blockbuster. The series is expected to be aired four months after completion.
