Iranian disabled athletes to celebrate Paralympic Day
Tehran, Oct. 12 (MNA) -- The fifth National Paralympic Day will be held in Tehran on October 16.
About 4500 athletes will take part in sitting volleyball, basketball wheelchair, futsal, judo, table tennis, cycling and goalball events at Tehran’s Azadi Sports Complex, according to Iran’s Paralympic Committee president.
“Our motto is: ‘happy and mirth, health and championship with paralympic sports’ in the fifth edition of the event. The competitions are symbolic and all participants will be awarded medal at the end of the day,” Mahmoud Khosravi-vafa said.
“National Paralympic Day is a good opportunity to find out how many talented athletes we have,” he added.
