New U.S. scenario is a big fat lie: Iranian Majlis speaker
TEHRAN, Oct.15 (MNA)-–During a meeting with the Sudanese president’s special envoy Mustafa Osman Ismail in Tehran on Thursday, Iran`s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said the false claim that Iran had plotted to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador is a "silly lie".
According to Reuters, on October 11, U.S. authorities claimed that they had broken up a plot by two men linked to Iran’s security agencies to kill the Saudi envoy, Adel al-Jubeir.
Larijani said the U.S. is losing its allies one by one during the popular uprisings rolling across the Middle East and North Africa region and is seeking to divert attention from its defeats through resorting to fabricating such scenarios.
