Iran`s Gorgan expert Manuchehr Sotudeh honored
TEHRAN,Oct.15(MNA) -- The Center for the Golestan Encyclopedia honored Iranian scholar Manuchehr Sotudeh for his achievements in his studies on the northern Iranian city of Gorgan during a ceremony on Thursday.
Entitled “Sotudeh and Half a Century of Gorgan Studies”, the ceremony was held by the center affiliated with Gorgan’s Mirdamad Cultural Institute.
The grand Iranian researcher Sotudeh has written “From Astara to Astarabad”, which focuses on the history of the northern part of Iran, the center official Rahmatollah Rajaei mentioned at the ceremony.
The five, six, seven and eight volumes of the book is dedicated to Gorgan and there are invaluable documents, information and photos about Gorgan in that book which makes it a necessary source for all researchers, he said.
The 98-year-old Sotudeh has written 52 books and 268 articles on different subjects during his career.
One of the aims of the institute is to honor scholars who have conducted research on the history, culture and heritage of Gorgan and Astarabad, the institute official Rahmatollah Rajaei mentioned at the ceremony.
The center has previously held commemoration ceremonies for other Iranian luminaries including Seyyed Kazem Musavi Bojnurdi, Hassan Anusheh, Javad Neyestani and Ali Bahramian.
