Iranian deputy central banker arrested over 2.6 financial scandal: report
TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (MNA) - The deputy head of the Central Bank of Iran has been arrested over the recent $2.6 billion bank corruption case, newspapers reported on Saturday.
Sharq, Khorasan, Keyhan and Jomhouri Eslami dailies reported that Hamid Pourmohammadi, the deputy central bank governor and another banking official have been arrested over the case. A member of the parliament has also been called on to comment on the issue.
Prosecutor General Hojjatoleslam Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei announced on Friday that two other suspects have been arrested over the corruption case.
He declined to name the two suspects.
On October 4, Mohseni-Ejei announced 35 suspects have so far been arrested over the case.
