Iranian paintings on Achaemenids on display at Tehran gallery

TEHRAN,Oct.31(MNA) – Iranian veteran painter Hojjat Shakiba, famous for his paintings on Persian TV series, is back home from Canada after 8 years with hands full of new paintings on the Achaemenids. Shakiba’s paintings appeared on several TV series including “Hezar Dastan” and “Kamalolmolk” and the movie “Delshodegan” all by late director Ali Hatami. And now his collection of paintings created over the past 10 years are on show at Tehran’s Shokuh Gallery. Born in 1949 in Gorgan, Golestan Province, Shakiba is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran. He held his first solo exhibit in 1997 in Switzerland and continued in Canada, England, Bangladesh and many other countries. Painting books including “Khayyam”, “Hafez”, “Irandokht”, and “Role of Photos in Iranian Art” are among his noteworthy credits. His latest book “Cyrus” is also available at the ongoing exhibit. The exhibit will be running until November 17 at the gallery located at 19 Amir Nuri Alley, North Salimi St., Andarzgu Blvd, in the Farmanieh neighborhood.
