Iranian Hadi Saei appointed technical manager of Iran taekwondo team

TEHRAN, Oct. 31(MNA) -- Two-time Olympic gold medalist Hadi Saei has been appointed as the technical manager of Iran’s national taekwondo team. At a session held at the headquarters of the Iran Taekwondo Federation in Tehran on Saturday, Saei was selected to be the new technical manager of the Iranian team tasked with preparing the team for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. In addition, Fariborz Askari was chosen to replace Reza Mehmandoost, who resigned, as the head coach of the team during the session. Saei won gold medals in taekwondo at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The 35-year-old also won a bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
