Iran beaten by South Korea in Olympic handball qualifiers

TEHRAN,Nov.1(MNA)--Iran handball team was defeated by South Korea in the Asian qualifiers for the 2012 Olympics on Monday. In the competitions, which are underway in Seoul, South Korea, Iran lost to host South Korea 33-25. Elsewhere, Japan beat Saudi Arabia 22-21 in the other semifinal match. Iran, who has already defeated Kuwait, Uzbekistan, Qatar and lost to Saudi Arabia in the competitions, is scheduled to play Saudi Arabia in the bronze medal match and the Korean team will play Japan in final on Wednesday. The competition’s first team will advance directly to the 2012 London Olympics and the second team will participate in the continental competition.
