Iran`s Shabaviz to select Iranian submissions for German book design awards

TEHRAN,Nov.(MNA) -- Germany’s Stiftung Buchkunst (Foundation for Book Art) has assigned Iran’s Shabaviz Publishing Company to choose Iranian nominations for the Best Book Design awards. The publishing company undertook the assignment at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October, Shabaviz announced in a press release on Wednesday. Books in all fields are allowed to be submitted to the publishing company. In addition, only books published after January 2009 are allowed to be submitted to the publishing company. Shabaviz will send the submissions to a committee in Stiftung Buchkunst in Leipzig, where they will compete against hundreds of other books from dozens of countries. A jury composed of international design and publishing professionals will select the grand prize winner and the runners up, who will receive honorable mentions. All the submissions will be put on display in exhibitions at the Leipzig Book Fair, the Frankfurt Book Fair, and many other popular national shows around Europe. After the exhibitions, the submissions will be kept in a special collection at the German National Library in Frankfurt.
