Auto Company Monitors Thai Flood Situation

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysian auto company Naza World is monitoring and assessing thethe flood situation in Thailand and its impact on the automotive industry. Naza Group of Companies group executive chairman SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin said the group has been affected by the floods but its impact still minimal. "For us (Naza), for Chevrolet and all that, we are affected for sure, but again we are not sure to what level," he told reporters after the Naza World Deepavali Open House 2011 here on Wednesday. Naza Quest Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Maruan Mohd Said said only some of the models had been affected by the floods as not all models came from Thailand. "Chevrolet Cruze is coming from Korea, so it's not affected by the floods. So far we have one model in Thailand." He said the company's stocks of spare parts were also not affected that much as it had already taken in advance the stocks needed and will tide over the period. --BERNAMA
