Hashimi: discrimination between Iraqis, mismanagement threaten Iraq’s unity, not turning the province to region
Baghdad (NINA) - Vice President, Tariq Al Hashimi said "threats on the unity of Iraq are not only by turning the province to a region, but, the discrimination between Iraqis and the spread of corruption and mismanagement," according to Hashimi’s media office.
Hashimi added during a meeting with the dignitaries and tribal Sheikhs of Anbar province "I do not think that turning the province to a region, which is a principle enshrined in the constitution in its first article, would threaten the unity of Iraq, but, instability arising from the discrimination between Iraqis and the prevalence of injustice, corruption, mismanagement threaten the unity of Iraq, and here lies the danger. These elements undermine the loyalty of citizens to their countries and push them to look for other solutions that may provide the opportunity of a better life."
He listened to the difficult circumstances facing the province in various fields, particularly in security, economy and services, noting that he understands the comments and complaints, and that he had listened to the same observations of the southern and the Mid Euphrates provinces.
He continued "it is your right to choose your admin future in the unified framework on your free will, but, you will have to agree with each other first. Second, you have to provide, for your choice, all the requirements of success, and May Allah be with you.” /End/
