Indian cine actor and chief guest at the 42nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Shahrukh Khan presenting the Life Time Achievement award to well known French film maker Bertrand Tavernier during the inauguration of the festival at Madgaon, Goa, on Wednesday. The award consists of a cash prize of Rupees One million (about USD 20,000), a scroll and a certificate. Also seen in the pic are India’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Mrs Ambika Soni (R) and Chief Minister Digambar Kamat of the western Indian state of Goa. The eleven-day long IFFI got going Wednesday with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Khan, Soni and Kamat, among others. The opening film of the festival was the Portuguese film ‘The Consul of Bordeaux’ directed by Francisco Manso and Joao Correa which portrayed the story of Aristides de Sousa Mendes, a man of conviction who saved 30,000 lives during the World War II.
