Turkish MFA pleased with talks between Abbas and Meshaal

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announced Friday that they were pleased with the talks between the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and leader of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, in Cairo in the past two days. In a statement released Friday, the MFA said that news about Hamas joining the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) were highly pleasing. We believe that Hamas's positive approach contributed to the process. In this direction, we offer our appreciation to the Egyptian authorities and all others in reaching the new point, the MFA said. Turkey will continue to encourage efforts so that unity is established in Palestine, the MFA also said.
