Malaysian Firm Nominated For Autodesk 2011 Inventor Of The Year Award

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 2 (BERNAMA) -- Malaysian company, PMB Facade, has been nominated to be one of the contenders for Autodesk Inc's 2011 Inventor of the Year award. In a statement on Thursday, Autodesk said PMB Facade used Autodesk Inventor software to develop architectural facades for some of the world’s most astonishing and eye-catching buildings, including Qatar’s Al-Bidda Tower, a 43-story building, also known as Tornado Tower. "The ability to digitally simulate and predict real-world performance before construction helped reduce material costs and wastes by as much as 15 per cent and deliver projects up to 30 per cent faster," it said. Autodesk said each month it selected an Inventor of the Month from the users of the software. "The winner is chosen for engineering excellence and groundbreaking innovation," he said. PBM Facade won the 2011 Inventor of the Month award in September, it said. Autodesk said the voting process for the Inventor of the Year award has started and encouraged its members to visit the website and pick one of the 12 companies that had been nominated for the award. "Voting will close on Feb 29, 2012 at 5pm (Pacific Time)," it said. --BERNAMA
