Iran-Pakistan To Expand Co-op: Pak Info Min.

Islamabad, Feb 18, IRNA – Minister for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan stressed that Iran and Pakistan should explore new opportunities to further enhance their ties. Talking to IRNA she said that the trilateral confab of Iran-Pakistan-Afghanistan would pave the way for regional cooperation. “It is not only a trilateral summit but we are going to write a new history for the region”, she said. Awan added that Iran-Pakistan-Afghanistan are regional powers and they should resolve all issues with mutual understanding. “We respect each others sovereignty”, Firdous Ashiq Awan said, adding that Iran and Pakistan are committed to promote trade and economic ties. “We have common Scio-religious ties and now it is the time that we should implement all commonalities”, she maintained. Awan said Iran and Pakistan are like two brothers countries. “We should stand together and strengthen each others’ arms”, she said. “I must congratulate the Iranian leadership on behalf of people of Pakistan on the success of the trilateral conference,” Awan concluded./end
