Security beefed up at Thailand's Suvarnabhumi Airport

BANGKOK, February 20 (TNA) - Security measures at Thailand’s main Suvarnabhumi International Airport have been heightened to ensure the safety of international visitors. Following a spate of bomb blasts in Bangkok last week, Somchai Sawasdipol, chief of Airports of Thailand Public Co., Ltd. or AOT, told reporters that the Suvarnabhumi International Airport has raised its security measures from level 2 to level 3 since February 16 to ensure passengers’ safety, with more frequent check-ups in and outside airport terminals, parking in front of all terminals banned and stricter checks of passengers and luggage before boarding. Somchai said that AOT has also join hands with Suvarnabhumi Airport Police Station and tourist police to provide around the clock security and call centre services at 0-2132-4000 and 1722. (TNA)
