PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN RECEIVES DELEGATES OF ISLAMIC CONFERENCE
Baku, 06 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan today received delegates of the Fourth session of Islamic conference of the ministers of higher education and scientific research hosted in Baku.
Speaking of importance of the Baku Conference, the Head of State noted that the
action serves strengthening of solidarity among the participant countries. The
sphere of education is always in focus of the state of Azerbaijan and education is
in the second place on volume of assignments from the state budget. “By growth of
economic development this field will be allotted more in the years ahead,” the
President stressed.
Noting that though 20 percent of the country`s territories are under occupation and
there are one million refugees and IDPs, the government is building modern schools
for them in the refugee settlements, President Aliyev said.
The President also stressed necessity of computerization of the secondary schools
and briefed on the works done in this field in Azerbaijan. He also informed about
education of the Azerbaijani youth abroad, underlining that “education is one of the
properties in the republic.”
Organizing the conference in Baku is important, Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri,
Director General of ISESCO, said. “The Islamic countries, in particular, ISESCO is
aware of the economic growth in Azerbaijan and we are pleased with the
accomplishments gained in this Islamic country.” He noted successful policy of
education pursued by Azerbaijan government.
