Turkey sends 40 tons of aid to Somalia

ANKARA (A.A) - February 29, 2012 - Turkey has sent 40 tons of relief materials to Somalia, the Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Situation Management said on Wednesday. A management statement said Turkey sent 40 tons medicines, medical equipment and devices to Somalia worth 1.4 billion Turkish liras-TL (800 million USD). The cargo plane carrying the aid took off from Istanbul early on Tuesday, and reached Mogadishu, Somalia later on Tuesday.
