Etisalat join hands with BT to set up the first telecommunications research centre in the Middle East
Abu Dhabi, Oct 8, 2008 (WAM) - Etisalat, Khalifa University for Science, Technology and Research (Kustar) and the British Telecom (BT) signed yesterday a partnership agreement to set up an international centre for telecommunications research and innovation.
The centre to be based in the U.A.E. will open in the first quarter of 2009 and it will be the first of its kind in the Middle East region.
In a statement, chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, chairman of Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones (ZonesCorp) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Kustar, HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the role of universities in transforming UAE into a regional hub for research and innovation.
