AZERBAIJANI TEAM HAS EVERY CHANCE TO WIN SPECIAL WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES, SHAHIN ALIYEV
Baku, 08 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)‘Azerbaijani team has every chance to win Special Winter Olympic Games’, Mr. Shahin Aliyev, President of the Special Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan, told Trend News Company’s press conference on October 7.
The press conference centered on some issues of preparation for Special Winter Olympics World
Games to take place in Boise, Idaho, from 7 to 13 February, 2009.
The Azerbaijani delegation will include 23 people, though Azerbaijani athletes will
participate only in one sports category – floor hockey. Azerbaijan ’s team has been
involved in these Games from 1997. Mr. Aliyev emphasized that the Committee was
founded to protect health of disabled and mentally retarded persons and ensure their
participation in the World Olympic Games. For the period of several last years, The
Committee has got 5 thousand people involved in sports and physical trainings. The
best athletes will represent the country at the International events.
