S. GUMANOV: HIGH RESULTS PRODUCED BY AZERBAIJANI JUDOISTS AT BEIJING OLYMPICS - GREAT SUCCESS OF AZERBAIJAN PEOPLE

Baku, 10 0ctober, (AzerTAj)“Our main rivals at the upcoming World Cup are Turkey, Georgia, Russia and Ukraine,” senior coach of Belarus national judo team Semen Gumanov told AzerTAc.

“High results produced by Azerbaijani judoists at the Beijing Olympics is a great
success of Azerbaijan people. They prepared very well for the previous Olympics as
well. They just had not luck,” he said
Gumanov said the Belarus national team includes mainly young athletes. According to
him, the competition is a build-up to the London Olympic Games.
“Staging such prestigious competitions in Baku is not accidental. The world
wrestling championship held in the capital of Azerbaijan last year is an evidence of
this. All conditions for training and rest of athletes were created here. We are
very satisfied with the organization of the competition and hospitality of
Azerbaijanis. I have been here before. The capital has changed a lot. High and
beautiful buildings, new infrastructure of the city make Baku unusually beautiful”
