Iran’s 9th Parliament To Open Today

Tehran, May 27, IRNA - Iran's 9th parliament (Majlis) will be inaugurated Sunday morning in presence of several high-ranking officials, foreign ambassadors and 288 newly elected MPs. The session will be inaugurated by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and playing of national anthem. A message from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei will be read by the Leader's representative Ayatollah Gholam-Hossein Mohammadi Golpayegani. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, Chairman of Experts Assembly Ayatollah Mohammad-Reza Mahdavi-Kani, Expediency Council Chief Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, several foreign ambassadors to Iran and a number of top officials would participate in the inaugural ceremony of the 9th Majlis.
