Salehi: Expansion Of Ties With EU Among Iran’s Top Priorities

Nicosia, June 27, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Tuesday that expansion of relations with European Union is among Iran’s top priorities. Salehi made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian nationals residing in Cyprus. Since Cyprus is to take over the rotating presidency of the European Union from July, it is expected to help remove existing misunderstanding between Iran and EU, he said. The Islamic Republic of Iran owes its dignity and independence to its martyrs, Salehi said and expressed hope that all Iranian expatriates would defend the country’s dignity and prestige. Iran has attained significant scientific success and has launched three satellite into space, he said. On nuclear field the country has made significant proress and is ready to export research reactors to other countries of the world, Salehi said. Iran is determined to overcome all problems on the international scene and attain its lofty goals, he said./end
