‘Thanksgiving Day’ On Morsi’s Victory Observed In Pakistan

Islamabad, June 27, IRNA – Pakistan’s major religious party has observed the “Thanksgiving Day’ on the triumphant of Mohammed Morsi of Muslim Brotherhood as the elected President of Egypt. The party observed a countrywide day of thanksgiving on the directives of Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Munawar Hassan. Rallies were brought out and sweets were distributed. Syed Munawar Hasan, while addressing a function, said Morsi’s victory was puff of cool breeze for the Islamic movements. He said the dictators of Egypt had tried hard to crush the Muslim Brotherhood. Its leadership was sent to the gallows and put behind the bars. The Muslim Brotherhood was declared unlawful and subjected to numerous restrictions. He said that Dr Morsi had won the election despite a strong opposition from the forces of (Infidel) Kufr and this was an occasion for thanksgiving. He was sure that time was not far off when Pakistan would also witness a similar Islamic revolution and no power would be able to stop it. The JI chief said that the secular and materialistic people in the country wanted to check the advance of Islam here in order to keep it from the objectives of the creation of Pakistan but they were doomed to fail like Egypt. A large number of party members in a special ceremony at Idara-e Noor-e Haq offered special prayers as gratitude. While speaking on the occasion, Asadullah Bhutto in his address said that books by founder of Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Maudoodi had played a pivotal role in bringing Islamic revolution in many countries. He said that any revolution could only be brought with the support of the people and for that purpose, electoral politics was the best option. JI Karachi Chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti said Muslim Brotherhood had been inflicted with countless barbaric treatments and they were killed and their bodies were not allowed to be buried with respect but they continued with their struggle and finally they achieved what they had fought for with the blessing of the Almighty Allah. He said that Muslim Brotherhood’s recent success was a message to all the Islamic movements across the world that the Islamic revolution was inevitable./end
