Khalifa receives Palestinian President
Abu Dhabi, Oct 15, 2008 (WAM) - President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reiterated UAE's support to the Palestinian people's right in establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
While receiving Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian National Authority, Sheikh Khalifa expressed his wishes for success of efforts aimed at mending fences and closing the Palestinian ranks in a way that will boost Arab and international efforts to arrive at a just and lasting solution and to guarantee Palestinian rights on the basis of international legitimacy.
During the meeting which was attended by General H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Khalifa and Abbas reviewed latest development in the Palestinian arena, as well as efforts aimed at mending fences among Palestinians to serve the struggle of Palestinian people to regain their rights and to put an end to their plight under the Israeli occupation.
