Nahyan Bin Mubarak and AFGCO sign agreement to set up Academic Chair
Abu Dhabi, Oct 17, 2008 (WAM) - Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research HE Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan signed yesterday, an agreement with the President and Executive Chairman of Al Fara'a General Contracting (AFGCO) Jawaharlal R. Gangaramani, for setting up an academic Chair at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT).
According to the agreement the AFGCO will contribute to the donors' fund AED 1.4mn over a period of three years for setting up an academic Chair at the Higher Colleges of Technology offering programmes in civil engineering.
AFGCO is a national company in civil engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).
Sheikh Nahyan praised the decision by AFGCO to support the donors' fund, an initiative by the minister to bolster cooperation between the HCT and the private sector. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
