Zayed Charity Initiative heart surgery team continue to operate on poor Tanzanian patients

Dar Es Salam, Oct 17, 2008 (WAM) - A cardiac surgery team from the UAE, Tanzania and other countries is continuing to operate on hundreds of underprivileged heart patients at Membali Hospital and Tanzanian Heart Centre in the Tanzanian capital.

The team which is sponsored by the Zayed Charity Initiative yesterday performed successful surgeries on 3 children with fatal congenital valvular defects and perforations in the poor patients who cannot afford the high expenses of such surgeries. Tomorrow, it will Over the coming six days, the Initiative's team which is working in partnership with Emirates World Heart Group (EWHG) will continue to free medical and surgical diagnosis, treatment and care to many other underprivileged patients.

The humanitarian voluntary initiative was launched by H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) to offer free diagnosis, treatment and care to many poor patients around the world and is just one of the many other UAE medical initiatives which benefited millions of patients worldwide. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
