Scholar : Enemies After Destroying Islamic Resistance Fronts

Isfahan, Sept 5, IRNA – Secretary General of the Ahlul-beit International Association Mohammad Hassan Akhtari said the current developments in Syria are in fact enemies’ attempts to destroy the Islamic resistance fronts. The cleric made the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the Third International Conference on Islamic Resistance here in central country Wednesday morning. He said enemies are hatching plots against Syria to destroy it as the focal point of resistance. He believed it was high time to think out ways to support and deepen resistance thinking. Saying that the Late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini was the person who revived the Islamic resistance thinking, he said nowadays the need for Islamic resistance is felt more urgently than ever. Destroying the illusions about the Zionist regime and the portrait which was made of it by hegemonic powers was a major achievement of the Islamic resistance, the ayatollah added. He reiterated that now this is the worst situation for the Zionist regime while the US is entrapped in the Middle East quagmire. According to the cleric, the Islamic Awakening in the region is another achievement of the regional resistance. The two-day International Conference on Islamic Resistance will focus on ways to expand resistance and stop its deviations. Representatives of 50 world countries including Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia, Bahrain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and Russia are attending the gathering./end
