Protest Rallies Against Anti-Islam Film Staged In Pakistan

Islamabad, Sept 24, IRNA -- Protests against the US-made anti-Islam film continued in Pakistan on Sunday and rallies were held in several cities to condemn the blasphemous act.
The demonstrators demanded severe punishment to those involved in making of the blasphemous movie and they also demanded the removal of the movie from the YouTube and Google Internet sites.
Several organizations took out a procession in Lahore in which hundreds of protesters including children participated. The rally started from Punjab Assembly and ended at Lahore Press Club.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards written with different slogans against the US and American pastor Terry Jones.
The rally was jointly organized by Idara Sirate Mustaqeem Pakistan, Fidian Khatme Nabuwat and Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat.
Addressing the occasion, the leaders of the organizations condemned the filmmakers and vowed to sacrifice their lives for safeguarding the sanctity of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). They demanded the government to pressurize the US government to arrest the accused and hang him.
Another rally was staged by Tanzeem Mashiakh-e-Uzzam Pakistan. A large number of people including religious leaders, women and children participated in the rally. The protesters were carrying banners and placards written with different slogans against the US and American pastor Terry Jones.
Addressing the occasion, Sufi Masood Ahmad Siddiqui condemned the movie makers and vowed to sacrifice their lives for safeguarding the sanctity of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). He demanded the government to take strict action against those who involved in uttering blasphemous statements against Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) through SMS./end
