Omani King Calls For Expansion Of Ties With Tehran

Tehran, Oct 4, IRNA -- Omani King Sultan Qaboos said on Wednesday that his country is determined to broaden and deepen relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. He made the remarks in a meeting with outgoing Iranian Ambassador to Muscat Hossein Noushabadi. Sultan Qaboos thanked the Iranian ambassador for the efforts he made for enhanced relations between the two countries. Sultan Qaboos said that relations between Tehran and Muscat are very deeply rooted and historical, adding that such cooperation can meet mutual interests. The outgoing Iranian ambassador for his part thanked hospitality of the Omani government and nation during his stay and praised the significant, just and moderate role of Muscat concerning the regional and global developments. The Iranian and Omani senior officials are determined to broaden economic cooperation between the two countries, the Iranian ambassador added. Benefiting from capabilities and potentials of both sides can help deepen and broaden ties and relations between the two sides, Noushabadi said. The role of Islamic countries in global management and their role in restructuring the international institutions especially the United Nations sound vital, he said. "Role of the Islamic countries in dealing with global problems and illogical behavior of arrogant powers and the cultural inroad of the west against Islam urge the Muslims to unify their stands to thwart the plots." Condemning the recent anti-human and anti-Islamic move masterminded by the Zionists and the US on the sacrilege of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), he called for implementing an international law banning blasphemy./end
