Iran FM Meets Turkish, Pakistani Counterparts

Tehran, Oct 16, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi met with his Turkish and Pakistani counterparts in Baku on Monday on the sidelines of the 20th ECO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
Salehi and his Turkish counterpart Ahmed Davotoglu in their meeting described Tehran-Ankara ties as very important in different dimensions.
They stressed that age-old ties between Iran and Turkey ar at a level which cannot be influenced by different regional and international problems.
They also reiterated their determination to promote bilateral relations.
The two ministers also agreed that self-restraint and political sovereignty of the Syrian government are necessary to prevent Syrian crisis from becoming more complicated.
In a separate meeting, Salehi and Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar discussed latest developments in the Tehran-Islamabad cooperation and their moves in connection with IP gas pipeline for transfer o energy to Pakistan.
They also exchanged views on Syria developments./end
