Iran Culture Min. Meets With Azerbaijan Rep. Culture Min.

Baku, Oct 16, IRNA – Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini here Monday evening met and conferred with Azerbaijan Republic Minister Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev on expansion of cultural cooperation between two republics. During the meeting between the officials expressed satisfaction over the successful holding of the culture weeks of the two countries in the two capitals and it was agreed that in the year 2013 the Culture Week of Iran would be held in Baku and vice versa. The Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Republic Garayev appreciated his Iranian counterpart for the screening of Iranian TV serials and full length future movies in Azerbaijan Republic TV and proposed that an Iran Film Week would be held in Baku. Hosseini welcomed the idea and it was also agreed that the Iran Film Week would be held in Baku within the next three months. Minister Garayev also informed the IRI culture minister that Nezami Ganjavi Center has been established in Azerbaijan Republic’s Gange city, inviting the Iranian scientists, academicians, and researchers to have close cooperation with that center. He further informed the Iranian official that in the year 2011 altogether 407,000 Iranian tourists have visited Azerbaijan Republic, which comprised 20% of the republic’s foreign tourists. The Iranian culture and Islamic guidance minister at the end proposed Iran’s potentials for attracting tourism in need of specialized hospital services, asking for bilateral cooperating in the field, as well as holding a conference on the matter in Baku in near future. Hosseini is in Baku along with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to take part in the 12th ECO Members Summit./end
