Switzerland helps promote mother and child health
(KPL) Officials of the Mother and Child Hospital and the Swiss Zurich University Hospital on 22 October had a meeting to review the implementation of the Lao-Swiss project Mother and Child Health Promotion.
The project, which was launched in 2002, provides financial assistance, medical equipment and training to hospitals in the provinces of Xiengkhouang, Houaphanh and Vientiane in efforts to reduce the rate of mother and child mortality.
The Lao side was led by Head of the Cabinet of the Ministry of Public Health Dr Chanthanome Manodham, while the Swiss delegation was led by Dr Roland Zimmerman, Head of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, Zurich University Hospital.
