Hamdan bin Mohammed congratulates Victory Team on 1-2 finish in Egyptian Grand Prix

Porto Marina Egypt, Oct 26, 2008 (WAM) - - The Dubai Victory Team moved one step closer to their eighth Class 1 Powerboat World Championship as Nader Ben Hendi and Mohammed Al Marri led a Victory 1-2 finish at the Egyptian Grand Prix in Porto Marina. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Dubai, congratulated the team members, as well as members of the Dubai International Club for Marine Sports and urged them to exert more efforts to continue the achievements.
The world championship favourites remain firmly on course to retain the title for the Dubai squad, while teammates Abdullah Al Mehairbi and Jean Marc Sanchez kept their own hopes alive by claiming second spot on a day when rough seas took their toll on the ten-boat field. Third home was Negotiator 50, piloted by Chris Parsonage and US throttleman Billy Moore.
"We came here looking to consolidate our lead with second place our target from the start so to get both boats home in first and second is way beyond our expectations," said a jubilant Ben Hendi, after bringing home the V12-powered, Dubai-built Victory 1 in 51m:03.17s - over two minutes ahead of his teammates in Victory 7.
