Interpol experts begin meeting in Abu Dhabi on DNA

Abu Dhabi, Oct 28, 2008 (WAM) - A team of Interpol experts started a three-day meeting last Saturday to discuss international cooperation on the effective use of DNA technology for fighting crimes, as well as enhancing international cooperation on exchange of criminals' DNAs.

In his welcoming speech, Lt. Colonel Dr Ahmed Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Head of the Criminal Biology and DNA at Abu Dhabi Police, conveyed greetings of Interior Minister Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his wishes of success for the meeting.

The Interpol expert will discuss tomorrow UAE's contributions to the International DNA Database. On Tuesday, they will tackle the DNA's role in solving crimes and enhancing security.
