Al Ghurair meets Speaker of Spanish Senate
Madrid, Oct. 28, 2008 (WAM) - The Federal National Council (FNC) Speaker HE Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, received yesterday in Madrid Speaker of the Spanish Senate Francisco Javier Rojo.
The meeting discussed the parliamentary relations between the FNC and the Spanish Senate. The two officials also discussed other issues, including the Middle East issues and the Iranian occupation to the three UAE Islands: Tunb Greater, Tunb Lesser and Abu Musa.
Al Ghurair briefed Rojo about the efforts of the FNC to settle the issue of the occupied Islands peacefully between the two countries, or refer it to the International Court of Justice.
On his part, the Spanish official lauded the depth of the relations between the UAE and Spain, stressing the role of the FNC in boosting the relations in the best interest of the two peoples. He commended the UAE woman participation in the parliamentary and political arenas in the country.
