Abu Dhabi Crown Prince meets Columbian Minister
Abu Dhabi, Oct 28, 2008 (WAM) - Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received at his Al-Bateen palace here yesterday, Colombian minister of trade, industry and tourism, Luis Guigermo Plata Paez and his entourage.
Sheikh Mohammed warmly welcomed the minister and stressed the importance of exchange of visit between officials of the two friendly countries to have first hand information about economic development in each of the two countries and to boost relations of cooperation for mutual interest.
The Colombian minister briefed Sheikh Mohammed about economic development in his country in view of the open economy and economic reform policies adopted by Colombia. He expressed his government's desire to attract UAE investment to Colombia to benefit from the attractive investment opportunities in that country's tourism, energy and agriculture sectors.
They also discussed ways to boost economic and tourism relations between the two countries as the Colombian minister reviewed with Sheikh Mohammed the potential investment opportunities in his country.
