Hamdan bin Zayed receives German Foreign Minister
Abu Dhabi, Oct 30, 2008 (WAM) - Deputy Prime Minister H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan received yesterday German Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is currently visiting the country.
Sheikh Hamdan reviewed with the German minister ways to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in economic, investment, cultural, scientific and technical fields.
Steinmeier expressed satisfaction over the progress of ties between the UAE and Germany which opened doors for a partnership in different economic and industrial sectors.
He thanked President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, General H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces and the Abu Dhabi government for granting a new building for the German International School which caters for 270 students, including 25 Emarati students.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education '&' Scientific Research, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, senior officials and German Ambassador Claus Peter Brands.
