Gargash stresses UAE's unwavering support to Libya

Paris, Feb 13, 2013 (WAM) - Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs has stressed the UAE's unwavering and continuous support to the Libyan government and people.
He added that "The UAE seeks to further develop this support through continuous discussions with the Libyan government".
Gargash was addressing the International Conference to Assist Libya in the fields of Security, Judiciary and the Rule of Law, which was held in the French capital, Paris, yesterday, upon the invitation from French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.
The event was attended by 16 countries and international organisations.
The UAE minister, who led the UAE delegation to the conference, noted that all parties are working closely to help provide all types of support to the Libyans, especially in the areas of judiciary, security and the rule of law, adding that the success of Libya will be the success for the region.
Opening the conference, the French Foreign Minister stressed the importance of restoring the security in Libya through meeting the demands of the Libyan government, especially in the areas of the judiciary, security and the rule of law.
He announced readiness of France to provide all forms of assistance such as technical and logistical expertise, training of police and security and restructure of judiciary.
Fabius welcomed the recent parliamentary democratic elections held for the first time in history of Libya, and resulted in the formation of the current government. He called for the enforcement of rule of laws, accountability and principles of democracy the Libyan people fought for. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
