All these factors, they agreed ultimately affected the cost of construction of hydroelectric dams.
The prime ministers expressed their satisfaction on the progress on the border demarcation work, which is a follow-up action on the agreement signed by the deputy prime ministers of the two countries in October 2008.
Concerning the illegal immigration issue, the two sides agreed to give this task to the Lao and Thai Border Security Committee to carry out their cooperative work and to use the previous bilateral agreement as a guideline. They also said they would not allow this issue to have adverse effects on the harmonious relationship between their countries.
The visit by Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat and his delegation to Laos was made in response to PM Bouasone’s invitation.
During the Thai premier’s visit, the two prime ministers presided over a ceremony to hand over the Wattay 2 Drainage System Project to Laos.
