450th Year Road to complete as plan
(KPL) The construction of a stretch of road called 450th Year Road began in September this year and its completion would be before the commencement of the celebration of the 450th anniversary celebration of the founding of Vientiane Capital in 2010, said Mr. Soulisay Sayasane, Director General of Duangchaleune Construction Company.
He also said that so far 20 per cent of construction work has been carried out and he gave the assurance that the road construction project would be completed on schedule.
This six -lane road, with seven cm thick asphalt surface will be 20.3 km long and 33 m wide, and it will run from Dongdok to Dongphousy The sum of US$37 million was allocated for this project.
This road will be part of the ring road of the capital, specially designed and built to ease traffic density and it would prevent heavy trucks that run down from the Friendship Bridge to travel through the heart of Vientiane.
